What makes The Sessions House a unique wedding and events venue?
The Sessions House is unique because it is a meticulously restored 19th-century Victorian courthouse. Very few venues in the UK offer the chance to get married in an original courtroom with such well-preserved architectural heritage.
Will we be sharing The Sessions House with other parties?
The Sessions House is an exclusive use venue, meaning you will have sole use of the venue for the agreed time on the day of your celebration.
What is included in the Hire of The Sessions House?
When you book The Sessions House we agree with you what is included in your specific package - we have a wide range of chair, linen, cuttlery options. As we provide bespoke quotes it is best to contact our team to go through this - we have some wedding packages which can be found in our weddings section which have prearranged all-inclusive options.
Are there any decor restrictions?
At The Sessions House, you may dress the venue as you choose. Our dedicated Events Team are happy to assist with a basic venue dress but their main aim is to ensure you have the perfect day. Therefore excessive venue dress needs to be organised and completed by a stylist or family member.(*Name cards, favours, table plan, welcome signs, gift table, mem
We cannot allow any items or drapery to be attached to our floors, walls or fittings
Does The Sessions House have Wi-Fi?
We have a public access Wi-Fi which guests can register to once they are onsite.
How do I get to The Sessions House by train?
The Sessions House is just 250 meters from Spalding Train Station. There are direct links to Peterborough, which offers high-speed rail connections to London Kings Cross (45 minutes) and the North.
Why choose a courthouse wedding over a traditional barn or hotel?
A courthouse offers "Heritage Elegance" without the mud of a barn or the lack of privacy in a hotel. The Sessions House provides exclusive hire, meaning you have private access to five distinct designer-led spaces, from the tropical-flair Emerald Room to the 19th-century Magistrate’s Room.
Where are the best photography locations within The Sessions House?
For iconic shots, we recommend the sweeping Victorian staircase for grand arrivals, the original Judge’s Bench for a dramatic ceremony backdrop, and our private courtyard for natural light portraits. Our unique Turret Dressing Rooms—one dark and moody, one Parisian chic—offer high-fashion editorial backdrops for "getting ready" photos.
Does The Sessions House support sustainable or locally-sourced weddings?
es. Being in the heart of the Fens, we partner with locally-sourced Lincolnshire farmers and butchers who prioritize seasonal produce from the surrounding agricultural landscape. By choosing our town-center location, you also reduce guest travel emissions, as we are a 3-minute walk from Spalding’s rail links.
